The University of Buckingham Medical School is committed to improving student attitude and engagement with an evidence-based medicine curriculum so students can appreciate its relevance in clinical practice. In 2018 the University held its first EBM conference successfully and this year will be the third annual conference striving to incorporate and enhance EBM in our medical school. Apart from this, the setup of academic medicine and research and audit societies has provided a platform for students with these interests to work together. To bring together all these elements, we will have our first ever Buckingham Student Research Conference – Autumn 2020.
The day will include several prominent speakers on evidence-based medicine who are graduates from University of Buckingham. We will also have short videos from finalists and an exhibition of posters by medical students from which 3 students will be chosen winning special mentions. We are also excitingly hosting a poster presentation in collaboration with our partner society BMRASoc, where the top three posters will win vouchers kindly provided due to the sponsorship of Wesleyan.
For our 2020 conference, we are hosting this via Microsoft Teams to accommodate due to the current circumstances of COVID-19. Don’t forget to submit your research/audit posters from work you have done at the University of Buckingham to our email (below) for a chance to win prizes! If you have any questions that you would like him to address, please send them to us at buckinghamstudentsresearch@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you there!
